Erie Family Portraits – Beach Photos

Saturday was a perfect day for beach portraits.  The weather was a bit cool, but the skies were clear and the beach area was starting to show some fall color.
I’ve worked with Sally and her family for years, and I was honored to work with them to capture some fresh family portraits on location.  They brought their dog Skippy, and we wandered around the Waterworks area to capture some late morning images.
Enjoy the great beach and fall images!  I had a great time.  I hope Sally and her family had fun and find some good images for their family memories!

Erie Senior Portraits: Benjamin

Benjamin is the third of three in his family.  I have had the honor of taking the senior portraits of both his older sister (at IUP with my daughter Kelly), his older brother (at EUP like I did, decades ago!), and Benjamin, headed to another Pennsylvania University.
We had some adventures in downtown Erie, heading NW to the beach, and capturing some really nice images by Waterworks pond and on the beach itself.  Then we retired to my studio and worked with a couple of interesting backdrops.
Ben was a great sport, and helped make the session smooth and enjoyable.  I wish Ben and his older siblings the best!

Erie Weddings: Rebecca and Trent in Edinboro

After last week’s rain, it was a welcome sight to see the sun out once again.  Saturday was sunny, warm and a perfect October day for a wedding.
Rebecca and Trent were married in Edinboro, the town where they went to college (at my Alma Mater, Edinboro University). Following a memorable wedding ceremony at Our Lady of the Lake, we traveled around the town of Edinboro for some great outdoor photos, including some park images and fun shots near “Angus”, the new Fighting Scot statue.
The reception was at Nick’s Place, where the decor was favorable to good indoor lighting (always a plus for wedding photographers), as well as some nice sunset images for the Bride and Groom.  Nick’s people are always so nice, and the food, so good!
Our groom, Trent, is in the National Guard.  Thank you Sir, for your service to our country.
Congratulations, Rebecca and Trent!

Senior Photography in Erie: Stephanie

We had a bit of a late start but ended up with some great fall images.  Stephanie and her dad came in from out of town, and we spent some time up at the PSU Behrend campus, catching some fall foliage and some campus scenes.  Then in near darkness, we hit the famous Mural Wall for some interesting shots.  Finishing in the studio, we chose three different backdrops to highligh Stephanie’s outfits.
Great images, Stephanie!

Erie Weddings: Anita and Jonathan

Saturday October 2nd started and finished with a steady rain.  But it was warm and dry inside the Sunset Inn, on Erie’s lower east side.  This lovely club, nearly 90 years old, is run by Michael and Paula Barrett, and maintains all of the old 1920’s character with a clean, classic image and great service.
Anita and Jon were going to have an outdoor ceremony at the gazebo, but the weather suggested otherwise.  Some quick rearrangement by the staff set up a neat ceremony area indoors, near one of the fireplaces.  A lively reception followed the ceremony, with many in attendance kicking their heels to the sounds of many decades of great music.

We captured some great images of the happy couple and their loving families and friends. Congratulations and best wishes, Anita and Jonathan!

Erie Wedding Photography: Kaycee and James

Last Saturday was a fine day for a wedding.  Kaycee and James were married at Our Lady of Peace, which has a wonderful open, red motif.  Following formal portraits in the church, we stopped by Frontier Park and joined a few other bridal parties for outdoor images at one of our nicer city parks.  I got down in the creek, hopping on rocks, and captured this great bridge shot.  The reception was in the Mannerchor Ballroom, one of my most popular locations.  They had some special lights for their reception, and it added a nice touch!
